Privacy Policy for Pearmint

This Privacy Policy explains how Webr World LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Pearmint mobile application (the "App"). By using Pearmint, you agree to the practices described here.

The Short Version

• We don't sell your personal information, and there are no ads in Pearmint.
• We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We collect what's needed to run Pearmint, plus usage analytics that help us improve it.
• You can delete your account at any time in the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not see or store your Apple/Google password. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive only the relay address Apple provides.

Content you create. We store the content you add to the App, including saved, imported, scanned, and AI-generated recipes; meal plans; grocery and shopping lists; pantry items; cooking history; and dietary or taste preferences you enter for yourself and household members.

Household information. If you create or join a household, we store household membership and invitation data so members can share recipes and plans.

Zip code. If you use the grocery price-comparison feature, you may enter a zip code so we can estimate prices at stores in your region. We use this to determine regional stores; we do not collect precise GPS location.

Photos you submit. When you scan a recipe, a receipt, or your pantry, the photo you capture or select is sent to our service and to third-party AI providers (see Section 3) to extract the recipe or item information. Recipe images may be stored to display in your cookbook; receipt and pantry photos are processed to extract items and are not stored.

Usage activity. We log in-app events with your account (for example, recipes viewed, created, or imported) to run the App's features and to improve it.

Analytics. We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the App is used. It records how you use the App, such as the screens you open, the features you use, your answers to the setup questions, subscription events (such as a trial starting or ending), and when the App is opened or closed. Each event includes your device model, operating system, app version, language, and time zone, plus your IP address and an approximate location (city and country) derived from it. Once you sign in, events are linked to your account ID, not to your name or email. They do not include the text of your recipes or notes, or the dietary needs and allergies you enter.

Crash reports. We use Sentry to receive reports when the App crashes or hits an error, along with performance measurements from some sessions. A report includes where in our code the problem happened, your device model, operating system, and app version, and the steps leading up to it (such as the screens you visited and the web addresses the App contacted). Crash reports are not linked to your account.

Feedback and surveys. If you answer an in-app survey or contact us, we keep your responses and messages to improve the App and to help you.

Our website. When you visit pearmint.app, including shared recipe and invite pages, our host receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser type. Our website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

Purchase and subscription information. If you subscribe, your payment is processed by Apple — we never receive or store your card or bank details. We receive and store your subscription status (for example, plan tier, trial/renewal state, and expiration) via our subscription-management provider (see Section 3) so we can unlock paid features for you and your household.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and maintain the App's features (recipe storage, meal planning, grocery lists, price estimates);
• Authenticate you and secure your account;
• Generate AI-assisted recipes, recipe images, and grocery price estimates;
• Enable household sharing;
• Send you service messages (such as trial reminders and account notices) and, unless you opt out, occasional emails or notifications about new features and offers;
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the App;
• Understand how people use the App, find where it is confusing, and fix crashes (analytics and crash reports);
• Create aggregated or de-identified information (see Section 4);
• Enforce our Terms and prevent abuse.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third parties to operate the App. Information is shared with them only as needed to provide the service:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and backend hosting) — hosts your account and content.
• Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In — authenticate your login.
• Third-party AI providers — we send recipe text, scanned recipe and receipt photos, pantry photos, and grocery item lists to these providers to power the App's AI features.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase/subscription events from Apple; it does not receive your name, email, or payment details from us. Apple processes all payments.
• PostHog — product analytics (see Section 1).
• Sentry — crash reporting and performance monitoring.
• Vercel — hosts our website, including shared recipe pages and invite pages.
• Expo (EAS) — delivers app updates.

The providers above are representative of the categories of services we use (authentication, hosting and storage, AI processing, analytics and crash reporting, and app delivery). The specific providers we use may change over time, and we may be delayed in updating this list. These providers process data under their own privacy terms. We do not control, and are not responsible for, their independent practices.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With the service providers listed in Section 3;
• With other members of a household you choose to join (shared recipes, plans, and lists);
• Publicly, when you share a recipe with a link (see below);
• In aggregated or de-identified form that can't identify you (see below);
• As part of a business transfer (see below);
• If required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Recipes you share. When you share a recipe, we create a web page at pearmint.app with a copy of it: the title, photo, ingredients, steps, a link to the original source, and your first name. Anyone with the link can view the page. We ask search engines not to list these pages, but anyone you send a link to can pass it on. The page is a copy made when you share, so deleting the recipe in the App does not remove it. Deleting your account takes down the pages you shared, except pages shared from a household that still has other members, which stay up without your name. To take a page down sooner, email us.

Aggregated and de-identified information. We may combine or de-identify information so it can no longer reasonably identify you, and use or share that information for any lawful purpose. We will not try to re-identify it.

Business transfers. If Webr World LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of its business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Anyone who acquires it must honor this Privacy Policy for the information they receive, and we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Account Details → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your personal data from our active systems, subject to limited retention required by law or for security. If you own a household and delete it, your account is deleted too; the other members keep their accounts and move to their own households with a copy of the shared cookbook.

Analytics events and crash reports are kept by PostHog and Sentry for their standard retention periods and then deleted automatically. They are not tied to your name or email, and deleting your account does not erase them right away; email us if you want them deleted sooner.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures (including provider-side encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Pearmint is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise core rights directly in the App (account deletion) or by contacting us at support@pearmint.app, including to ask us to delete your analytics data. We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable period, and in any case within the time required by applicable law (generally 30–45 days). You can opt out of promotional emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them, and turn off notifications in your iPhone's Settings.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect and how we use it; (b) request access to or deletion of your personal information; (c) correct inaccurate personal information; and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, delete your account in the App or contact us at support@pearmint.app.

10. International Users and Data Transfers

We operate the App from the United States, and our service providers (Section 3) primarily process data in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
